Project PAHAL
Promoting A Holistic Approach to Learning
Led by Interlancy Education | In Our Partner School- Udaya Public School

What is PAHAL?
PAHAL (Promoting A Holistic Approach to Learning) is a flagship initiative by Interlancy Education, launched in November 2022 at Udaya Public School. Designed with foundational training from Sangath India, PAHAL promotes a whole-school approach to emotional well-being, inclusion, and child protection. The program focuses on building the capacity of educators through targeted psychosocial training and the establishment of inclusive frameworks.
Key components include the creation of a Mental Health Cell, enhanced counseling services, and institutionalized support structures like SAATHI (School Inclusion Committee), Sahaj Shiksha (Active Learning Centre), and Prabal Bachpan (Counselling Team). By aligning policies with student-centered practices and leading awareness campaigns on emotional literacy and safety, PAHAL has contributed to a measurable positive shift in student self-awareness, expression, and classroom climate.
What sets PAHAL apart is its commitment to embedding care and connection at the heart of education. Through interactive workshops, peer engagement models, and community involvement, the initiative nurtures a sense of belonging and safety for every child. The school environment evolves into a space where students are heard, supported, and encouraged to thrive emotionally and socially.
As part of Interlancy Education’s broader vision, PAHAL reflects a hands-on, collaborative approach that is visible both in classrooms and beyond. From building systems to shaping school culture, the project demonstrates how grassroots change, guided by expertise and empathy, can create lasting impact in the lives of young learners and educators alike.
