Exploration, Empowerment, and Impact in Action
From April 21st to 26th, 2025, our team hosted an exciting and enriching Summer Volunteer Program in our partner school designed especially for students who had just completed their Class 12 Board Examinations. This transitional phase between school and future aspirations was filled with opportunity, growth, and contribution, thanks to the vibrant and thoughtful design of this unique program.
With 15 spirited students taking part, the week unfolded with hands-on sessions, creative challenges, and meaningful social engagement. The focus was not only on skill-building but also on cultivating a sense of responsibility and innovation.
Code & Chill
Led by Hritik and Anahita, this energetic session introduced students to the world of automation and app development in a relaxed, approachable environment. Participants explored how apps are designed, what automation means in our everyday lives, and how they could begin building their own tech solutions.
Website Development Training
In this workshop conducted by Hritik, students were introduced to the basics of web development. They explored the layout, structure, styling, and interactivity of websites, gaining a solid foundation in how websites are built from scratch.
Digital Literacy & Outreach Program
Another innovative initiative led by Hritik, this session prepared our student volunteers to become digital mentors. After being trained in basic technical skills, these students went on to train the school’s support staff in essential tech knowledge—such as performing calculations, using basic translation tools, and understanding Roman numerals. It was a powerful demonstration of peer-to-peer empowerment.
Research Paper Writing Workshop
Facilitated by Zubin Cardozo and Divyansh, this intellectually stimulating session guided students through the essentials of academic writing. From structuring a research paper to citing sources and presenting arguments logically, this workshop opened doors to academic and research-based futures.
Ink and Impact: Journalism & Newsletter Writing
Led by Anahita, this creatively rich session focused on journalism and content writing. Students learned to write newsletter articles, understand the basics of news formatting, and explore the power of storytelling and responsible journalism. The session emphasized clear communication, ethics, and the impact of well-crafted writing.
Green Campus Project
This eco-conscious activity brought together technology and environmentalism. Students used a plant detection mobile application to identify various plants on campus. They compiled the botanical and common names, and later created nameplates to display beside the plants. It was an inspiring step toward building a greener, more aware campus.
Diversity & Inclusion Dialogue
Moderated by Ayush, this session focused on nurturing an inclusive mindset. Through discussions, examples, and reflections, students examined the importance of respecting differences, recognizing privilege, and creating equitable spaces for all—both in schools and beyond.
Resume & Portfolio Building Workshop
Also led by Ayush, this practical session helped students reflect on their achievements and prepare for future academic or professional pursuits. From structuring a resume to curating a personal portfolio, the students left with tools to represent themselves confidently and professionally.
This week-long Summer Volunteer Program 2025 was more than just a set of workshops—it was a celebration of student leadership, creativity, and social impact. Each session helped participants gain valuable life skills, build meaningful connections, and take their first steps into adulthood with confidence and purpose.
